1st Stone Scout Group is committed to following The Scout Association’s strategic plan which you can view at:

Read on to see what we get up to.  If you like the sound of that, get in touch!

weekly meetings

Each section meets once per week during term time, where they join in with exciting programmes geared towards earning badges.  Adult volunteers make sure these include games and some down-time to socialise with other young people.

outdoor activity days

All our sections have taken part in outdoor activity days organised by a local scout camp.  Activities they have tried include crate climbing, throwing, caving, rifle shooting, and firelighting, to name a few!

Camping

Camps are a fantastic opportunity to get badges completed – most of the time the young people don’t even realise!

We have previously taken our young people on camps organised by Staffordshire County Scouts, as well as individual section camps.

In 2018 we teamed up with 1st Oulton Scout Group to take our Cub Pack to Brownsea Island, which is where Lord Baden-Powell held his experimental camp in 1907.

social evenings

As part of the section programmes, young poeple have regular social evenings both at The Pump House and at other local venues.

Some of the activities we’ve previously done include a group camp fire for young people and parents, parties for Halloween, Christmas and Easter, tubing at Stoke Ski Centre, an evening at Flip Out Stoke, and much more!
